Security: Why several layers are better than one….

Most businesses and homeowners have some sort of anti virus protection but is this enough?  Most people have an anti-virus, and even malware programs loaded into the computer’s and diligently icon_onpay for licenses and services throughout the year but neglect the newest threats and the most simple solutions to keeping your surfing experience safe.  Content management and DNS filtering can provide a new layer of protection.  This simple implementation provides additional protection,  and is dynamically updated to constantly help against the latest malware and Ransom Ware threats.  Not deploying the latest layers of protection or consulting with your friendly technology consultant may cost you in the end.  Don’t forget to overlook these things for your workstations / desktops.

Here is a quick list of what you should be using or at least gives you a basic setup:

  • Antivirus software
  • Malware software
  • Hardware firewall
  • Software firewall
  • DNS filtration
  • Content management (optional)
  • Good backups
  • Shadow-copy services turned on if possible
